Rigo district Enrolment Agents Training set for July 20, 2016
PNGEC's training section to conduct Enrolment Officers training in Kwikilla, Rigo District on the 20th July 2016. The training is specifically for the ROs and AROs to basically educate them before the Enrolment exercise commences.
The PNG Electoral Commission’s Training Section will commence its Enrolment Officers training on the 20th July, 2016 at the Rigo District office in Kwikilla. Speaking from his office today, the Electoral Commissioner Mr. Patilias Gamato clarified that the Training will be conducted only for the Returning Officers (ROs) and their Assistant Returning Officers (AROs).
Mr. Gamato mentioned that the training is a “First Level Training” which is specifically for the ROs and their AROs and it will be conducted over a period of 3 days starting on Wednesday the 20th of July, 2016.
The specifics of the Training is to basically educate the group on the Roles and Responsibilities of Election Workers and the Enrolment Processes and Procedures. The Enrolment processes and procedures include, how to fill in the Enrollment Forms, how to make amendments on the Electoral Roll for existing voters and other possible scenarios that they might face during the exercise.

He said, after the Completion of this training, ROs and AROs will then conduct their Enrolment Agents training at the LLG Level. Mr. Gamato also stated that 2 weeks ago, there was a Milne Bay Election officers training conducted at Milne Bay prior to the Official Nationwide Electoral Roll Update Launching in Kwikilla, Rigo District.
It is most likely that East New Britain will be next after Rigo for its ROs and AROs Training. Regional Trainings will then be conducted after the ENB Enrolment Officials. “Our Aim is to do these trainings within a month period so that the main enrolment work can be carried out as soon as possible”, He said.
